mindie mouse shop policies

Purchase of a ready to ship item or custom commission from the Mindie Mouse Shop indicates your acceptance of the terms on this page.

bottom line: your happiness is paramount

My ultimate goal is for you to be delighted and satisfied with all aspects of your transaction with me and my shop. If at any point you have any questions or need to reach me, please email mindiemouseshop@gmail.com. This is the most efficient way to reach me as my social media DMs are often full of spam and solicitations.

custom items: send your own bag or fabric

I am very glad to take on your custom commissions! However, I am a one-woman enterprise sewing in a tiny studio in my 1947 home. Please treat any items coming into my home with the same discernment you would use for your own. I do not work on items that are not clean or which have odors such as cigarette smoke or strong scents of fabric softener/fragrances. While I love the idea of unstoppables, the smell is overwhelming quickly in my small space.

I am happy to offer upcycling of used bags, but ask that you please not send any used changing pads (diaper change pads). I prefer not to launder any products after receipt, but will contact you to discuss any items that I received soiled during transit.

Dirty or smelly items are subject to quarantine in my carport (and I will not assume responsibility for damage during such airing out period), laundering, and/or return to sender at your expense. If an item is refused for work based on its condition (wear, odor, dirt, irreparable staining, etc.) the shipper/sender/owner must pay return postage before it will be returned, plus a handling fee for my time in arranging return shipping. If I determine laundering is necessary, an additional fee will be due. I will contact you to discuss necessary laundering or I can return your item at your cost.

The Mindie Mouse Shop cannot be responsibile for fabric or bags once they are shipped to me but prior to my receipt (while they are with the carrier). Please purchase insurance for the full market value (replacement cost at resale market value [“BST rates”]) for your parcel before posting it to me. I highly recommend using UPS or FedEx until further notice. Please note that I am a one-woman operation and accidents do happen; because of this, please do not mail me any items of an irreplaceable nature. I’ve yet to bungle a job beyond repair, but it is best for us both to understand that mistakes happen. In the event of any unforeseen accidents, I will contact you immediately to discuss options.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Assumption of risk/ one of a kind items: PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME ANYTHING IRREPLACEABLE. My liability is limited to refund of the cost of your commission and I will not be responsible for repair or replacement of any items lost in transit or damaged whether by me or otherwise. By paying the commission or any commission deposit you agree to be held to this term. I do not mail any items without adequate insurance. Prices include return shipping with appropriate insurance and may be adjusted from time to time as set forth in my shop policies.

shop policies

Heed the golden rule; no jerks allowed. I love sewing and creating beautiful custom items you cannot order on Amazon or even from your favorite upscale retailer. Because of that devotion and eye to detail, I am unable to make goods as quickly or efficiently as a wholesaler. I need your patience, understanding, and input!

Please be kind, we are all doing the best we can. If the policies on this page don’t work for you, I can’t either. My turnaround time is intended to include any potential overruns for unforeseen issues but if any unexpected issue arises, I will contact you as soon as I am able.

turnaround time/processing time for customs

When I am able to offer custom slots, the turnaround time will vary. I endeavor to return customs within 4 weeks (20 business days, which are Monday through Friday excluding bank and US Federal holidays). If my turnaround time exceeds this window, I will contact you to discuss options.

print placement

Please contact me before placing an order or shipping any items to discuss preferred print placement (“PP/PPP”). I am delighed to work with you to maximize useful fabric and to showcase your preferred portion of a printed pattern, and it may be best for you to measure and/or photograph your item prior to posting it to me so that your PPP is understood. If we are using a fabric I have on hand, I want to ensure I have enough to showcase your favorite character or element!

pricing and payments

My custom shop is how I support my family, and I need to be timely paid in full and without challenge in order to do so. Failure to pay invoices, deposits, or work order balances will result in hardship for me. I reserve the right to retain all non-refundable deposits if additional payments called for under our agreement are not made when due.

Custom commissions are quotes based on my estimated labor and material/supply hard costs. As with everything in the last 2-3 years, my suppliers have faced difficulties and cost increases and so have I. Due to these unforeseen and changeable circumstances, I reserve the right to adjust my pricing at any time including after you have paid a deposit or your commission balance. I will contact you in every circumstance as soon as a necessary price rise is known to me so that we can discuss whether you wish to proceed and all alternative options. In the event of any dispute, upon my notice to you of a cost increase, if you do not agree to the increase, I will stop all work and return your item to you at your expense. I am not responsible for repair or replacement if your item has already been disassembled/prepared for customization.

product photography

Finished bags are photographed staged with air packs and other photography props in lighting that is as faithful as possible to natural lighting conditions. Actual color may vary due to device settings and photography conditions. I am not responsible for minor variations (as determined in my sole reasonable discretion) between photography and the product.
